Indian Army constructs Memorial in Ladakh for soldiers martyred in Galwan Clash

The Indian Army has constructed a memorial in Ladakh to pay tribute for the twenty soldiers who dies in the Galwan Clash between Indian Army and Chinese Army in June 2020 in the Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldi road.

  • The memorial has the names of the soldiers who dies in the clash and the soldiers been mentioned as “Gallants of Galwan”.

Chhattisgarh State Government has organised Corona Intensive Community Survey Campaign. Through this campaign a door-to-door survey is being held to identify patients with COVID19 symptoms infection in rural and urban areas of the state by October 12.

  • The main aim of this Campaign is to identify Corona patients as soon as possible by conducting intensive community survey in urban and rural areas.

Union Railway Minister inaugurated Phoolbagan Metro Station in Kolkata

Union Minister for Railways Shri, Piyush Goyal inaugurated Phoolbagan Metro station of East-West Metro. The inaugural function was conducted virtually through video conferencing.

  • Total length of this project is 16.5 kms.and the total estimated project cost is Rs. 98 Cr. This will connect Howrah on the West bank of the river Hooghly with Salt Lake City on its East bank.
  • Phoolbagan Metro Station is a station of the Kolkata Metro in Phoolbagan, a north neighbourhood of Kolkata, India.

Union Health Minister dedicated COVID Hospital in Uttar Pradesh

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated Super Speciality Block (SSB) at Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh as a COVID Hospital.

  • The minister also inaugurated first high throughput COBAS 6800 machine in Uttar Pradesh.
  • The Super Speciality Block is built with an investment of Rs 150 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

Forbes which is an American business magazine recently released the World’s Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers Ranking. This is the eighth-annual World’s Most Influential CMOs list. Apple CMO Phil Schiller topped the list. He is followed by Ann Lewnes at Adobe and Lorraine Twohill at Google.

  • Ravi Santhanam, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), HDFC Bank is the only indian has been recognized in the Forbes list of ‘The World’s Most Influential CMOs’.

American actress Sofia Vergara, topped the annual list of Forbes’ Highest-Paid Actresses 2020. The actress has secured the top spot with an earning of $43 million.

‘SMART’ – Supersonic Missile Successfully tested by DRDO in Odisha

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) which is an agency under the Department of Defence Research and Development has successfully tested ‘SMART’ (Supersonic Missile Assisted Release of Torpedo) in Odisha Coast.

  • Also DRDO labs which are DRDL, RCI Hyderabad, ADRDE Agra, NSTL Visakhapatnam have developed the technologies required for SMART.

International Online Shooting Championship – Indian shooter Visnu Shivaraj Pandian won 10 meter air rifle event

Indian shooter Visnu Shivaraj Pandian has won the 10m air rifle event at the fifth edition of the International Online Shooting Championship which is held on 3rd October 2020.

  • The second place was won by world no. 27 Etienne Germond of France while Olympic quota winner Martin Strempfl of Austria, who had shot the best qualification score of 631.4, took the third place.
